Poured Rubber Characteristics

Complies With American Disabilities Act Our Poured Rubber Surface complies with the ADA for wheelchair accessibility (ASTM 1951). All children should have access to playground activities.

Maintenance The Poured Rubber Surface is a low maintenance surface that carries a multi-year warranty. It can be easily cleaned with a soft bristled brush and garden hose, or naturally by rainfall. We recommend a bi-annual” deep clean” using a power washer and vacuum extraction process. Innovative Playgrounds will provide this service if requested.

Porous Our Poured Rubber Surface is a porous product provides a system that eliminates standing water after the rains as well as helps dramatically in the cleaning process.

Safety Its designed to meet the latest CPSC guidelines and ASTM F1292 standard test requirements, which offers maximum performance and maximum liability coverage.

Seamless The Poured Rubber is mixed and troweled on site, this provides a unique seamless system that prevents in surface trip hazard possibilities.

Slip Resistant Its coefficient of friction characteristics enhance reduction and probability of slip and fall accidents.

Recycled The majority of the rubber used is derived from post consumer tire product. Our system is made from 70% recycled tires and 30% virgin colored rubber.

Vandalism Its proven over time to be the most effective playground choice for resisting vandalism.

Materials

The cushion layer of the surfacing system consists of post consumer runner shred material derived from recycled tires. The cap or “wear course” portion of the system is composed of high quality virgin and recycled EPDM rubber. The binder consists of non-flammable, non-shrinking, one-part moisture cured polyurethane adhesive capable of bonding to concrete, asphalt and compact stone base.

    Engineered Wood Fiber

    Material is a mix of random sized Engineered wood fiber, comprised of 97% to 100% Fir and 0 to 3% Pine. Material passes through a 3/4" screening process.

    Engineered Wood Fiber meets the ASTM F-1292 Standard Specification for Impact Attenuation of Surface System Under and Around Playground Equipment.

    Engineered Wood Fiber also meets the maneuverability performance requirements of the ASTM F 1951 Surface Test.

    Engineered Wood Fiber have also been tested using the method described in the 16 CFR 1500.44 of the Federal Hazardous substances Act for rigid and pliable solids, which certifies its non-flammability.

    Material is free of twigs, bark, leaf debris and any other organic material. Material is manufactured from 100% clean wood; no "scrap wood", i.e. pallets and or demolition wood used.

    Material is free of any foreign objects such as nails, trash, and /or chemical additives.

    Material is non toxic.

    We recommend that Engineered Wood Fiber be installed to a depth of twelve inches (12") after compacting.
